Why is this an issue? Edit
Greenhouse gas emissions are becoming a growing problem. The average temperature of Canadian provinces has risen considerably. With the increasing temperature it has brought abnormal weather patterns, increased hurricanes, more poor air advisories etc.
Canada should remain on the Kyoto targets of reducing emissions levels to 1990 levels.
Other solutions Edit
A high-profile and well-funded government agency should be set up to realize the goal of a virtually fossil fuel-free economy. We need to generate the same level of excitement and sense of mission as the Apollo project.
Federal tax credits for hybrid and other fuel efficient cars and trucks should be introduced and expanded.
Tax credits should be offered for users of public transit to the extent of 50% of the value of the transit pass.
